Dear Belle Isle residents,
We are pleased to inform you that the small dog park at Belle Isle has undergone some improvements and will be reopening on Friday, May 19, 2023.
The recent "refresh" of the park is a temporary fix as we continue to work with the Parks Department for more significant upgrades in the fall. Our goals for the refresh were to reduce the rocky and muddy areas during wet times and increase the grass coverage.
We would like to thank the 133 residents who participated in our survey to identify dog owners using the fenced dog parks. We also appreciate the residents who volunteered to serve on the committee for future improvements. We will be contacting the volunteers in the coming weeks.
Additionally, we have received confirmation from the Parks Department that upgrades for the larger dog park will begin on June 5, ensuring a better experience for dogs of all sizes.
